Travelling to Berdaale District, 22-November 2025

My journey to Berdaale District has always been meaningful. I have travelled to Berdaale three times, with my last visit in 2015, and each trip strengthened my connection to the district and its people. Berdaale is a peaceful district with a strong sense of community, rich culture, and hardworking residents who value unity and hospitality.

One of the most unforgettable aspects of my visits was the warm welcome from the people of Berdaale. From elders to youth, everyone showed genuine kindness, respect, and openness. Their smiles, greetings, and readiness to help made me feel at home from the very first moment.

I was especially honored by the welcoming attitude of the Mayor of Berdaale, Mohamed Issak Aracase. He is a truly kind, humble, and approachable leader who cares deeply about his people and the development of the district. His leadership reflects wisdom, patience, and sincerity. The mayor’s hospitality and respectful engagement left a lasting impression on me and demonstrated the strong bond between leadership and the community in Berdaale.

Berdaale is more than just a place I visited it is a district filled with good people, strong leadership, and unforgettable memories that continue to stay with me even years later.

My MPH Journey A Story of Growth, Challenges, and Gratitude

My MPH Journey in Bangladesh: A Story of Growth, Challenges, and Gratitude

Dear Family and Friends,

It is with immense pride, joy, and deep gratitude that I share one of the greatest achievements of my life  I have successfully completed my Master of Public Health (MPH) degree!

This milestone represents more than just academic success; it reflects years of hard work, dedication, and a life-changing experience that shaped who I am today. My journey to earning this degree in Bangladesh has been filled with lessons, challenges, friendships, and unforgettable memories that I will cherish forever.

The Beginning of a New Chapter

When I decided to pursue my Master of Public Health, I wanted to gain a deeper understanding of how health systems operate and how communities can work together to promote wellness and prevent disease. Bangladesh became the place where this dream turned into reality.

Moving to a new country brought excitement and curiosity, but also uncertainty. It was not easy leaving home, family, and everything familiar behind. However, from the very first day, Bangladesh welcomed me with open arms. The people were kind, humble, and incredibly friendly. Their warmth made me feel at home even when I was miles away from my own.

🇧🇩 Life in Bangladesh

Living in Bangladesh has been an extraordinary experience. The country is full of color, energy, and life. Every corner tells a story  from the busy streets filled with rickshaws to the peaceful green villages surrounded by rice fields. The people are known for their hospitality, generosity, and big hearts. No matter where I went, someone was always ready to help with a smile.

The food of Bangladesh was another unforgettable part of my journey. The delicious mix of spices, rice, fish, and curries brought comfort and joy after long study days. From biryani to dal and street snacks, every meal felt like an adventure. I quickly grew to love the rich flavors that are such an important part of Bangladeshi culture.

The weather, too, was a new experience for me. The hot, humid summers and the heavy monsoon rains were sometimes challenging, but they also became part of the story. I learned to adapt and appreciate each season the rain that refreshed the air, and the warm sunlight that brightened the mornings.

Overcoming Challenges

Studying abroad is never easy. There were moments of homesickness, language barriers, and the pressure of academic life. Adapting to a new environment while maintaining focus on my studies required strength and patience.

There were days when I felt exhausted, far from home, and unsure of what lay ahead. But in every difficult moment, I reminded myself of why I started  to make a difference in the lives of others through public health.

Support from my professors and classmates made the journey easier. The academic environment in Bangladesh encouraged collaboration, critical thinking, and practical learning. Every lecture, discussion, and project taught me valuable lessons  not only about health but also about leadership, teamwork, and empathy.

Gratitude to My Supporters

I owe this success to the incredible people who stood beside me every step of the way. To my beloved parents, your sacrifices and constant prayers have been my strength. Your belief in me gave me courage when I felt weak, and your words of wisdom guided me through every challenge. This degree is as much yours as it is mine.

To my relatives, thank you for your kind words and endless encouragement. Your support from afar reminded me that I was never alone.

To my friends both in Bangladesh and back home thank you for being my family away from home. You shared my laughter, my struggles, and my successes. Whether it was studying late into the night, exploring the city, or simply enjoying a cup of tea after a long day, your friendship made this journey unforgettable.

Lessons Beyond the Classroom

My time in Bangladesh taught me lessons that go far beyond books. I learned what it means to live with gratitude, humility, and resilience. I saw how communities, even with limited resources, can come together to support one another. I realized that true public health is about understanding people  their culture, their needs, and their hopes.

The people of Bangladesh inspired me with their strength, unity, and kindness. They taught me that impact starts small  with empathy, with listening, and with care.

Looking Ahead

As I step into the next phase of my journey, I carry with me everything I have learned not just from classrooms and textbooks, but from real experiences, real people, and real challenges. My goal is to apply this knowledge to improve public health systems and create sustainable solutions that make a difference in people’s lives.

This degree marks the beginning of a lifelong commitment to service, compassion, and community empowerment.

A Heart Full of Gratitude

To everyone who has been part of this chapter my family, my teachers, my classmates, and my friends thank you. Your love, guidance, and encouragement made this possible.

Bangladesh will forever hold a special place in my heart. It gave me not only an education but also unforgettable memories, lifelong friendships, and a second home.

With heartfelt gratitude and pride,
